Five common Seo Mistakes
When it comes to SEO, there are no exceptions nor short cuts either. One simply mistake- ,unprecedented or otherwise, could result into losses of catastrophic proportions. These kinds of mistakes therefore, require that they’re seriously avoided at the earliest time possible rather than be corrected later. These mistakes occur in various categories: some in what could be denoted as the obvious, whilst others appearing to be more subtle in form. However, whatever their categories, they’re errors that must be avoided at all cost. They include:
1)Backlink Spamming
When it comes to SEO, the most accurate statement should read: the more quality links a site has, the better it will rank and not vice versa. This is because of the misinformation that deludes SEO providers that the more links a site has pointed to it; the better it will do in search engine rankings. This however reads partially true, as long as the definitive word QUALITY is omitted from the statement.
Obviously, search engine rankings is not made any better by the presence of spamming links on every blog or forum. If anything, many sites suffer the risk of penalization or even ban as a result. Adding salt to injury, website owners delete spam or unrelated links because they are unprofitable practices. Nevertheless, quality links from well managed websites related to the site in promotion, should always be obtained by progressive web-owners without qualms. This is made much easier by them providing good and useful content.
3)Hiding text
Given that search engines have reviewers who manually check them at regular intervals: whatever web-owners do in order to boost their rankings should never include practices that might get a site banned. Such practices include for instance hiding of text. This is where web-masters put a list of key words at the bottom page and change the font color to make it invisible; or even use some other trick in order to stuff as many keywords and phrases on a page as possible-in an invisible manner.
4)Ignoring images
Images are a great way to add more relevance to the search engine as they conjure an intimate environment besides adding a lively nuance .Therefore, naming of files should be relevant to the page in question i.e blue-flowers-for-sale.jpg, rather than vaguely picl .jpg. Be sure also to use the Alt tags to add in another keyword or two as need be, however care should be taken to be subtle about it.
5)Ignoring URL’S
No search engine friendly site should have non-specific URL’S such as page1.html.Apart from relating to what’s on the page; URL’S are like images that if ignored could be to one’s own peril. It makes it much better, to organize site categories based upon keywords found during keyword research.
6)Expect Instant Results
In SEO, it takes time plus dedication to see the results. Though good ranking occasionally come quickly; in SEO its not a quick race.
